Our Core Values

God has given First Baptist Church of Tahlequah a vision for how we’re uniquely called to do ministry. Part of that vision includes a set of values—guiding themes that serve as our filter as we continually strive to share grace and truth. In all that we do, we aim to resonate these core values.

As a church, we live out and spread God’s hope and love as we commit to following Jesus, growing together, and living on mission.

WORSHIPPING WITH OUR WHOLE HEART

Individually and corporately, we glorify God in worship with our voices and our lives, demonstrating grateful hearts for Who He is and all He has done for us.

ANCHORING TO GOD’S TRUTH

The Bible is the foundation of all we do and believe. We actively reflect on the truth of God’s Word and apply it to our daily lives.

RELYING ON PRAYER

We seek God and walk with Him in relationship through prayer. We find our power for daily living in our prayer time with God.

We are committed to being a multigenerational church that pursues Christ together - investing in generations beyond our own and providing effective ministry for all of life’s stages.

Our joy is to help build strong families and ultimately the family of God through effective ministry that strengthens individuals, fortifies marriages, and raises up children in the love of God.

THINKING BEYOND OURSELVES

It doesn’t end with us, it starts with us. We live generously - stretching ourselves to consider others and spreading the Gospel to those around us—in our church, our community, and throughout the world.
